Ca'Brea Restaurant has been open since 1990. It sits over the bones of what used to be Robaire's, which was one of those delightfully funky old French restaurants.

The restaurant is the child of Locanda Veneta, that miniscule Third Street spot that some argue is the best italian restaurant in town. Ca'Brea is one of those places that reflects the sheer excitement and enthusiasm of the fellows who run it - Jean-Luis Mori and chef Antonio Tommasi (a veteran of Chianti Cucina) - also co-owners of Ca del Sol, Allegria, I Padri, Il Moro and as written before Locanda Veneta.

The restaurant is a great spot, with lots of wonderful looking carved wood, polished granite, high ceilings, sand-blasted glass - all the right details, and turns, compelte with private rooms upstairs, which seem to stretch all over the place, and the requisite open kitchen. It's the right restaurant, on the right block, at the right time.
